Who needs Kanye West when you have a sister willing to rant for your honor?
Solange Knowles joins Beyonce’s fans in the peeved group over how some media outlets are covering the 52nd annual Grammy Awards.
Beyonce broke a Grammy record by winning six awards last night — the most awards won by a female artist in one night in the history of the awards show. Her wins include a few in the R&B and pop categories, but she took home the big Song of the Year honor for her ubiquitous hit “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It).” Still, many outlets are naming 20-year-old country darling Taylor Swift as the night’s big winner for taking home the top prize of Album of the Year in addition to three other awards.
“Im sorry but i’m having another kanye rant moment. My sister BROKE THE RECORD for the MOST GRAMMY’S IN ONE NIGHT BY ANY FEMALE,” Solange wrote on her Twitter account. “So why do i KEEP seeing ‘other artist’ as the Nights ‘big winner’….(*kanye shrug here) ????”
A flood of responses came Solange’s way. Many agreed, but others defended Taylor. “Okay, Taylor Deserves her congrats. She worked just as hard as your sister.ur sister has been in the game for along time,” one commenter wrote.
Solange didn’t harp on it, though. “Wowzers 2 some responses. Good darnit……im glad folks agree. Ok. On to the next one:)”
