GLOBAL NEWS- Lawsuit Against African American Sorority ALPHA KAPPA ALPHA May Cause It TO SHUT DOWN
Eight members of the now-defunct Southeast Louisiana University chapter of the
Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority were arrested this month for charges related to an
alleged hazing incident in January, campus officials announced Friday. In June,
the university ordered the 15-member sorority chapter in Hammond into inactive
status for three years, after which they may reapply for reinstatement. While
officials with the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Department said the eight AKA
sisters were booked on counts of hazing, false imprisonment or other violations,
it declined to specify the incident that triggered the arrests, which occurred
between Aug. 11 and 19. Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Dawn Panepinto said that it
describing the incident would be inappropriate since an investigation is ongoing. Three students have been suspended for a year; two were suspended for a semester;
and three were given disciplinary probation, which allows them to go to classes under certain conditions.

GLOBAL ENTERTAINMENT- Omarion Has 'Nothing But Love' For Lil Wayne, Despite Leaving Young Money!
Omarion released an official statement on Friday (August 21) regarding his parting of ways with Lil Wayne's Young Money label earlier this week. The statement reiterates the singer's Twitter post on Wednesday, dispelling rumors that he'd been dropped.
"I have a lot of respect and admiration for the genius of Lil Wayne and the entire Young Money family," he said. "I asked to be released from the label to pursue other opportunities that were recently presented to me. Because of our relationship, Lil Wayne had no issue with us ending our business relationship and released me from the label. Lil Wayne and I have nothing but love for each other, there is no beef. I also wanted to make it clear that my company nor did I, leak the song, 'I Get It In,' and I want to dispel any rumors that have surfaced. I appreciate my relationship with Young Money/ Cash Money and look forward to doing business in the future.
"There will be a major announcement regarding my career and my new album, Ollusion, coming next week," the statement promises.
Young Money member Mack Maine broke the news of Omarion's departure on his Twitter page Wednesday night, writing, "ATTN: Omarion is no longer Young Money ... the song they leaked featuring Wayne is not official ... Good luck to him in his future endeavors."
Omarion has not released an album since 2007's Face Off duet with Bow Wow. The former B2K member was released from his contract with Sony music, and in 2008, there was talk of him signing to Timbaland's Mosely Music Group. Except for a few songs that leaked to the Internet, nothing transpired from that collaboration.

Kourtney Kardashian can't have all the attention!
While the eldest Kardashian sister is currently pregnant with her first baby, Kim Kardashian is busy working on her own future with ex-boyfriend Reggie Bush.
The couple, who claimed their busy schedules were to blame for their split three weeks ago, have been spotted spending time with each other in New Orleans, Usmagazine.com reported.
The reality star was in the Big Easy to attend a Dress for Success fashion show, while her New Orleans Saints running back ex was in training camp to prepare for the NFL season.
Even though Kardashian attended the charity event alone on Saturday, Bush, 24, reportedly picked her up afterward.
The reunited couple, who began dating two years ago, was also "all smiles" as they were spotted walking into a Ruth's Chris Steak House for dinner on Monday, People.com reported.
And as for the duo aptly nicknamed the “Bush and the Tush,” it appears as though absence made their hearts grow fonder.
"They're taking it day by day," a source tells Eonline.com. "They're not sure what the future holds, but they love each other enough to give things another shot."
Despite Kardashian's hectic schedule, the 28-year-old beauty is said to be trying to show that she's willing to sacrifice her career for her man.
She will reportedly spend the rest of August in Bush's New Orleans home while he finishes training camp in Houston.
